NAMBOUR’S MOONLIGHT MARKET
Last Friday of the Month

The last Friday of every month Nambour comes alive with the Moonlight Markets held in the heart of town. In the ambient Nambour Town Square amphitheatre you’ll find fabulous, funky live music that will have your toes tappin’ & your hips swayin’ to the beat. With music this good, it’s hard to stand still!
Flowing up Lowe St are a myriad of market stalls for you to browse & shop to your hearts content for unusual items you won’t find in the everyday stores plus there’s plenty of food & drink vendors with a variety of international & local flavours to sample that will keep your belly happy.
It’s a fun night out for the whole community & locals & visitors love the atmosphere. If you haven’t tried it, come along to the next Moonlight Market. A guaranteed good time without the big price tag!

NAMBOUR ORIGINALS – MUSIC IN THE PARK
2nd & 4th Sunday of the month

The second (2nd) & fourth (4th) of every month mosey on down to Quota Park in Nambour, just past Nambour Plaza, across the bridge, opposite the back of the RSL, Cnr of Matthew St & Ann St Nambour.
Lisa & Monique from LisaSista Photography had this to say about Nambour Originals after their first visit to Quota Park:
So - Here's what WE LOVE about Nambour Originals

“It is a Live Music event that is OPEN to the public - It is All Ages event - meaning it is all inclusive and does not discriminate. Organisers ask that each person purchase a minimum $5 each in raffle tickets or make a $5+ donation to cover costs to sustain the event - making it fantastic value & the cheapest day of quality family entertainment on offer on the Coast".

It is a place for the community to gather, to make real and ongoing connections and friendships... everyone is welcome and everyone is included, every different type of person is accommodated with performances from amazing musicians of diverse musical genres ...

The musican's who play at Nambour Originals are often High Calibre - (international & national acts) - they travel a very long way - and put a huge effort in to bring their band/show - to the park, for the people!

PLUS...Local Musicians who Live in Nambour - now have a platform to showcase their work, to promote their latest release, to network with each other and other more established bands... as well as make connections with their fans and those who might employ them to perform at private functions etc. You must check out awesome local band The Flumes - local Nambourian, Kayte Wallace plays an amazing huge blue electric harp - so beautiful)

Beautiful food, drink, COFFEE (very important at a Sunday gig) is available - right there in the park...

It is just magic! Watching the little children dance and play in the dappled light, sharing a picnic afternoon tea with beautiful 'older senior' people, laughing along with the youth - who dare each other to do funny funky dances - and dress up in their 'coolest' fashion gear...
A perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon in Nambour!

Sounds great. NambourTown says CHECK IT OUT!

ACTIVITIES ON THE WATER

Every weekend, the waterways of the Sunshine Coast become home to hundreds of yachts & fishing boats, luxury cruisers, pontoon boats, tinnys & watercraft of all shapes & sizes. If you love spending your leisure time by the ocean you’ll never want to leave. No wonder the locals love this lifestyle. Within 20 minutes of Nambour in any direction, you have access to all this!

FISHING CLOSE TO NAMBOUR

Locals fish in their favourite spots & amateurs enjoy the fresh air & relaxation on the water. Even without a boat, there’s all sorts of great fishing spots to be found. If you enjoy rock fishing try Point Cartwright, Alexandra Headland, Maroochydore, or along the Spit at Mooloolaba Bar. Take care & be fully aware of the tide & swell conditions. More sedately, you can fish along the edge of the Maroochy River, from Cotton Tree continuing along Bradman Avenue (where you can put your boat in if you have one).

Try your luck on the walking bridge across the river to Chambers Island, a great little spot for fishing & swimming. Fish off the banks, or hire a tinny & take to the river. For the more adventurous, charter operators offer day & overnight trips offshore fishing along the reefs where marlin are a favourite for sport fishing.

SAILING & BOATING

A major leisure activity is sailing, as Mooloolaba is one of the safest harbours in Australia. The Mooloolaba Yacht Club is home to some of the nation’s major sailing events. Every Wednesday afternoon there are casual sailing events from the clubhouse & in the bay at Mooloolaba catamarans are also for hire. These are fun & simple to sail in these protected waters.

The Sunshine Coast is a boat lover’s paradise with a variety of prime real estate through Kawana, Minyama, Mooloolaba & Maroochydore boasting deep water frontage so you can step out your door & take off from your own jetty. Heaven!

WATERSPORTS

JET SKIS

Jetskis are available for hire along Bradman Avenue Maroochydore & are loads of fun for active & adventurous holidaymakers. Paddle a sea-kayak at sunset from The Wharf at Mooloolaba. Maroochydore is a top spot for windsurfing. Top Shots at Maroochydore has dodgem bumper boats. Great fun! 10 minutes from Maroochydore you will find Ski-n-Skurf at Bli Bli with cable waterskiing.

SCUBA DIVING & HMAS BRISBANE

Scuba diving is excellent on the reefs off the Coast. There are a number of Scuba Schools & Dive Tour operators who will take you to the best spots. If you are looking for something special, dive the HMAS Brisbane, which has been sunk just of the coast of Maroochydore & Mooloolaba. This is very popular with divers visiting from all over the world & is proving to be a spectacular world-class dive site as time passes.

SHARK DIVES

How brave are you? Are you ready for the ultimate challenge? Did you know you can scuba dive with the sharks at Underwater World? An unforgettable holiday experience! Book at Underwater World at The Wharf, Mooloolaba.

Glide past islands, natural & artificial, & check out some of the Coast’s most spectacular homes along Millionaire’s Row! The trip finishes with a cruise along the waterway out to the Spit, giving you time to gaze at marinas of yachts, stunning boats & prawn trawlers. Wave to other boaties & people picnicking along the river.
From 11am, 1pm, 2.30pm. Book at The Wharf, Mooloolaba.

ECO-CRUISE CALOUNDRA

This is a fabulous cruise that no visitor should miss & most locals need to check out too! A daytime eco-cruise or sunset cruise down Pumicestone Passage following the tip of Bribie Island south via Pelican Waters. Interesting commentary, wildlife & a completely relaxing, thoroughly enjoyable trip, again seeing Caloundra from a different perspective out in the ocean looking in! Caloundra looks absolutely beautiful at night as the sun sets.
